The Incredibles is a 3D animation directed by Brad Bird for Pixar in 2004. This is the story of a family of superheroes forced into hiding their identity. These are superheros as you really want to see them. Not the usual hackneyed hollywood job. Great visuals, great characterisation and great fun. As always with Pixar a lot of work goes into the storytelling. Each “super” has its own unique look. It’s really a work of comic genius to see Mr Incredible at the beginning of the animation and then later trying to hold down an office job, getting into his undersized car every day. His frustration bubbling under the surface.
The most memorable character is the fashion designer to the supers, Edna. This is brilliantly voiced by Brad Bird himself.
It is no surprise that the film received the 2004 Annie Award for Best Animated Feature, along with two Academy Awards. It also won the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation.
